Before sunrise Easter morning, members of Pilgrim Church, United Church of Christ, were on ladders decorating a 12-foot cross with fresh spring flowers of all types, by the light of car headlights.
As the sun rose and the blossoming-flower Easter cross could be seen by passing motorists, horns were blown and numerous cars were stopping to take photos of the cross.
Following the Easter morning worship service, Pastor Bonnie Lipton and members of the congregation gathered at the cross, which was built to the glory of God, and to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Once again, traffic slowed, cars stopped, photos were taken and new friends were made.
Pilgrim Church, United Church of Christ, is at 5880 U.S. 1 South; worship is at 10 a.m. Sundays.
